Superbook Retail Sportsbook To Have Colorado Grand Opening Friday

Former Denver Broncos offensive lineman and local radio personality Mark “Stink” Schlereth will place a ceremonial first bet on Friday when SuperBook Sports officially opens its Colorado retail sports betting location at The Lodge Casino in Black Hawk. SuperBook, a well-known Nevada brand, expanded into Colorado with its digital app last fall. The new sportsbook will be SuperBook’s first brick-and-mortar location outside of Nevada.

Schlereth, a three-time Super Bowl champion, including two with the Broncos, will headline the SuperBook’s official grand opening, the company announced via press release. SuperBook’s digital platform is currently available only in Nevada and Colorado. Schlereth is also a two-time NFL Pro Bowler and a member of the Broncos’ 50th Anniversary Team.

“We look forward to creating an experience not only the day of the opening, but every day, where both the most sophisticated players along with novice sports bettors feel like they can sit back and enjoy the game,” SuperBook Sports Head of Marketing Kristin Mackey said. “We are creating an atmosphere that is grounded in the traditional sports book experience.”

Betting windows, kiosks, and lots of televisions

The new 7,000-square-foot sportsbook will be located on the second floor of the Lodge Casino and will feature 28 state-of-the-art televisions, a full bar, and a mix of “comfortable and functional” seating, according to the release. Three staffed betting windows will be available in the sportsbook, and kiosks will be located both in the sportsbook and throughout the casino. In addition, bettors can wager on the property — or anywhere in Colorado — via the SuperBook app.

The formal grand-opening events are set to begin at noon local time Friday. Throughout the day, local radio and television personalities will be on hand, and some will be doing their shows live on site.

“We could not be more excited for the Grand Opening of the SuperBook at the Lodge Casino. It is a perfect fit for our initial expansion outside Las Vegas,” said SuperBook Sports Executive Vice President of Sports Book Operations Jay Kornegay, who is a Colorado native. “We will continue to focus on what sets us apart: better odds, favorable pricing, and an extensive wagering menu.”

The Lodge is one of about 30 brick-and-mortar casinos in Colorado and one of 13 in Black Hawk. All of the state’s casinos are licensed to have sportsbooks, and to date, 22 mobile platforms are available.
