Colorado Avalanche Beat Edmonton Oilers 8-6 In Game 1 Of NHL Western Conference Finals

The Avs are only three wins away from an NHL Stanley Cup Finals berth.

The Colorado Avalanche have an opportunity to advance to the NHL Stanley Cup Finals this year and attempt to win their third Stanley Cup.

The Avs defeated the Oilers of Edmonton Tuesday night at Ball Arena by a score of 8.6 in Game #1 of the Western Conference Finals. The best-of-seven series continues Thursday night in Denver before moving on to Rogers Place in Alberta for Games #3 and #4.

Colorado has been an odds-on favorite to win the 2022 Stanley Cup at different points of the regular season, but were surpassed in recent months by the Presidents’ Trophy winning Florida Panthers. However, the Panthers were stunned by the underdog Tampa Bay Lightning and swept out of the postseason last week.

The NHL Eastern Conference Finals between the Lightning and the New York Rangers began Wednesday at Madison Square Garden. If the Avalanche advance past the Oilers, they will be guaranteed home-ice advantage in the Stanley Cup Finals due to their superior regular season record compared to both the Lightning and Rangers.

The Avs have won two Stanley Cups in their history:the first in 1996 and the second in 2001. Colorado won the Presidents’ Trophy last year, but were ousted early in the postseason by the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Rockies Fall To Last Place In MLB National League West Division

The Colorado Rockies are currently in last place in the NL West with a record of 23 wins and 27 losses – 11 games behind the division leading Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rockies haven’t won a series against an opposing team since early May, when they took two games out of three against the Nationals.

Colorado will host a four-game series this weekend at Coors Field against the Atlanta Braves before traveling to San Francisco to take on the Giants at Oracle Park next week.

NBA Finals Action Pits Golden State Against Boston

The Golden State Warriors outlasted both the Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA Western Conference playoffs to advance to this year’s NBA Finals – where they will compete against the Boston Celtics in a best-of-seven series that begins Thursday at Chase Center. The Warriors will enjoy home court advantage against Boston for the 2022 NBA Finals.

For their part, the Celtics defeated the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks in a grueling 7-game series, only to turn around and achieve the very same feat against the Eastern Conference top-seeded Miami Heat.

Golden State is a significant favorite to win the NBA championship at online Colorado sportsbooks.

Colorado Sports Betting Figures For April 2022

Regulators have released sports betting figures inside the state of Colorado for the month of April 2022

Total handle fell significantly to $392.3 million in April due to the absence of March Madness collegiate basketball. Despite the month-over-month decline, the total handle in April 2022 represents a nearly $100 million increase over April 2021 numbers, which were just over $300 million.

Colorado sports betting regulators have also pointed out that the legal Centennial State sports betting market has taken approximately $6.945 billion in total wagers since the activity became legal in May of 2020 – meaning that the state will eclipse the $7 billion mark once May 2022 numbers are released by the CO Department of Revenue’s Special Business Group.
